This started as a plain sheet of posterboard used to hold stencils while sprayed with spray tack. While working on the Spock painting, I observed the spray tack start to absorb the over spray of the painting. What happened after was an intentional addition of multiple colours, sprayed gently over the top of the tack creating the image in the frame. Almost a photo negative of the Spock painting. It is indicative of art, often in our pursuit of something we hold in our minds, we can miss opportunities at observing beauty. By having your mind closed to one outcome, you hinder your creative abilities. Simply put in the words of Mr. Bob Ross, always be on the lookout for “Happy little accidents”.
